What are the best shoes to wear in a Zumba® class?
Zumba Fitness recommends that you wear cross training or aerobic style shoes. They provide the cushion and medial lateral support needed for side-to-side movements. They also have low traction rubber for easy sliding and turning. Please be careful with running shoes since they use a heavy tread on the bottom and are designed for forward movement. How many calories can I burn during a Zumba® class?
The number of calories each person burns per class varies. Depending on your body parameters (type, composition, intensity, range of motion), you can burn hundreds of calories per class. -
Do I need a dance background?
NO!! Zumba classes are designed for ALL levels whether you are a beginner or advanced. -
What should I bring to class?
Bring water and a towel- you will sweat!!

Owner and Head Coach of Rhythmic Stars Gymnastics Academy, Varduhi Nahapetyan is a former competitive gymnast and highly regarded coach, who produced numerous State, Regional and National finalists and champions
Melissa has been a professional rhythmic gymnastics coach for 2 years. Prior to that, Melissa was a competitive rhythmic gymnast, competing locally, nationally and internationally for 8 years. During this time, she won numerous state and regional championship titles, along with a national title in 2009.
